Happy Easter Monday to you all!
Two meetings for us to work with today - Kempton and Wolverhampton both on the all-weather. The free daily NAP, Midnight Rumble, is up on Instagram already ahead of the 15:30 at Kempton.
⭐⭐ NAP: FINAL NIGHT Kempton (AW) | 4:40 | 1m Handicap (Div I) | Class 4 | Advised: 2pts @ 6/4
This is a horse who belongs here. Course and distance form is there, the yard is in exceptional shape - John Butler has been operating at a 77% strike rate from recent runners, one of the standout figures across the entire card - and Final Night arrives fresh after only 19 days off the track. His form reads 311-31, and the most recent of those figures came right here at Kempton. The market has already found him and made him favourite, and it's hard to argue.
The main danger is Helm Rock. He also knows this track and comes from a yard running at 100% from a sizeable recent sample. If anything is going to spoil the party, it's him.
This is a competitive Class 4 mile handicap, not a gimme. But the signals are clean, the fitness is there, and the yard is flying. That's enough.
⭐ NB1: KULLAZAIN Wolverhampton (AW) | 3:40 | 7f Handicap | Class 3 | Advised: 1pt @ 7/1
Kullazain has course form, has shaped with promise more than once without always getting the rub of the green, and comes here off a 30-day freshener that looks deliberate rather than incidental. Marcus Tate sends his runners out ready and his strike rate bears that out. Seven furlongs at Wolverhampton on a Standard surface suits a horse of this profile, the handicapper hasn't gone overboard, and 7/1 looks a fair price in a six-runner field.
His sire Hello Youmzain was a top-class 6-7f performer having won the Haydock Sprint Cup and being placed in Group 1s at 7f, so the step up from his last winning trip of 6f carries genuine pedigree support.
Only two places are paid EW in this field size so we're treating this as a win-only play at the advised price, but switch to 0.5pts each-way if he drifts to double figures.
Good Luck!
